Larry Gatlin speaks at Odessa Rotary Clubs meeting

Grammy-winning recording artist Larry Gatlin addressed a joint meeting of the three Rotary Clubs in Odessa on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at their luncheon at Odessa College and recalled his days growing up in Odessa.

Gatlin had glowing words for the education he received as a student in Odessa (particularly from his English and Music teachers) and credited his love of words and music to them. At one point, Gatlin led all of the Odessa Bronchos in the room in the OHS Fight Song! A crowd of about 75 enjoyed his tales of the music industry and how he wrote some of his biggest hits.
