DALLAS Midland-based certified public accountant Kate Devey has been elected 2021-2022 president of the Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA) Permian Basin Chapter.
Devey currently serves as the tax senior manager at Whitley Penn. Midland-based CPA Derby Gallo, finance and tax manager at The Kent Companies, was named president-elect of the chapter.
Joining Devey and Gallo on the chapter’s leadership team are: Immediate Past President, J.D. Faircloth, CPA, Whitey Penn; Vice President, Catherine Speer, CPA, Whitley Penn; and Secretary/Treasurer, John Michael Jaramillo, CPA, Weaver.
The remaining 2021-22 TXCPA Permian Basin Board of Directors include: Chapter Director At Large, Kristie Jumper, CPA; Chapter Director At Large, Jennifer Smith, CPA; Chapter Director Midland, Mackenzie Craft, CPA; Chapter Director Midland, David Poole, CPA; Chapter Director Odessa, Meredith McKeehan, CPA; Chapter Director Odessa, Alba Soltero, CPA; State Director expiring 2023– Chad Valentine, CPA; State Director expiring 2022, Rod Aguilar, CPA; UTPB Faculty Representative, Narita Holmes, CPA; and UTPB Student Representative, McKinnley Douglas.
The chapter also recognized four of its members with special awards due to their continued and dedicated service: Outstanding Executive Officer, Catherine Speer, CPA; Outstanding Director, Kye King, CPA, Controller at Santa Elena Minerals, LP; and Outstanding Committee Chair, Cody Jones, CPA, audit manager at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, and Alba Soltero, CPA, audit manager at Whitley Penn.
2021 Accounting Excellence Award Winner is Larisa Lopez, student at The University of Texas Permian Basin.
