The West Texas Shoota’s competed and won in the American Cue Sports National pool tournament May 22-23 in Las Vegas.
The Shoota’s defeated Hustlers II (Kan.), 13-12, to win the 8-Ball national championship, coming back from a 10-3 deficit to win the title.
Jesus Tremillo is the team captain, with team members Cesar Sanchez, Daniel Vasquez, Harvey Lujan, Joe Anthony Villarreal and Freddie Flores.
West Texas Shoota’s is sponsored by The Golden Cue and Tres Amigos Cantina.
The national championships were conducted by American Cue Sports Alliance (ACS), with 71 teams from across the country at in the event.
Results are:
>> 9 ball teams (64 teams total): West Texas Shoota’s, 17th place.
>> 8 ball teams (71 teams total): West Texas Shoota’s, champion.
>> 9 ball individuals (109 total players): Sanchez, 17th.
>> 8 ball individuals (82 total players): Sanchez, first; Vasquez, third; Tremillo, seventh; and Lujan, 33rd.
