Odessa Police Department Chief Mike Gerke not only gave out prizes to the youngsters at OPD’s Block Party, he also donated his time to “Paint the Park” held Sept. 25 at Memorial Gardens Park.
Gerke helped read off the names of those who lost their lives to cancer as a way to pay tribute.
Gerke and the Command Team also donated their own money to buy a flag to show their support for the event.
