Odessa Arts in partnership with Downtown Odessa Inc. has announced the lineup for the October First Friday event. Launched in August, “First Friday” is a free community event where local businesses open their doors to the public with special exhibitions and activities celebrating Odessa’s movers, shakers, and makers.
Events will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 6 in Downtown Odessa.

Cooper Rose Building (415 N. Grant Ave.)
- The main floor of the Cooper Rose Building Odessa Arts will have a membership table where you can get perks right then and there for becoming a member of Odessa Arts, memberships start at $25. Membership perks include T-shirts, a signed copy of Booze & Vinyl by André Darlington, tickets to the Shakespeare Festival, tickets to Las Nuevas Tamaleras, and an exclusive invite to the episode of “Art In America” by Amazon Prime Video that features Odessa.
- In the basement of Cooper Rose Building Retro Hall Video Games and Collectibles will be hosting Game Night and Halloween Costume Contest.
Homemade Wines (400 N. Texas Ave.) will have a permanent jewelry artist apply jewelry from 6:30 – 9 p.m. This will be in addition to their everyday offerings of wine tastings and various food from flatbreads to charcuterie boards.
Isy’s Fine Jewelry (409 N. Grant Ave.) will have a pop-up event with Melanie Golden Artisan Jewelry, a local jewelry designer known for her boho minimalist designs.
McJack’s General Store (411 N. Grant Ave.) will be offering face painting for all ages.
Odessa College Green Space (corner of East 4th St. and North Jackson Ave.) the new Odessa College Green Space will have Celebrations of Hispanic Heritage happening on their plaza.
- The first 100 people will get an Odessa College promotional item.
- There will be a DJ from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Zumba class from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Student culinary will have food to purchase.
- There will also be yard games; food trucks and Ballet Folklorico performing from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Odessa Marriott (305 E. 5th St.) – Odessa Marriott’s White Buffalo will be celebrating Octoberfest with the flavors of Samuel Adams Octoberfest. Odessa Marriott’s restaurant will be hosting a build-your-own pasta bowl night with adult bowls at $32 and children’s bowls at $15. Reserve a table on OpenTable.
Patrick Clay’s Tavern (418 N. Grant Ave.) will be hosting a pop-up with Evil Ink Tattoo with $30 tattoos.
Sunflower RX Pharmacy (110 E 7th St.) will extend their hours for Friday and will host a live art demonstration from Madison Guerro.
Starbucks Downtown (305 E. 5th St.) will be hosting fan favorite, Candice Harding for free typewriter poetry.
Torchy’s Tacos (306 E. 5th St.) will have a caricature artist ready to draw you in a way you won’t see in the mirror.
Taco Republic (415 N. Grant Ave.) will have live music featuring Joe Campos.
