LETTER TO THE EDITOR: It’s almost over – get out and vote

It’s almost over! If you haven’t voted yet one last chance this coming Tuesday.

I voted early and stood in line for 1.5 hours which was a first for me in all the years I have voted. That was great! I hope that none of you have fallen for the abusive rhetoric that has been spewed by both parties and their surrogates, but then that is nothing new in American politics.

It has been going on since the founding of the republic and was warned against by George Washington. It has just gotten worse with the advent of social media. Politicians lie all the time. It is a national past time for them. Don’t listen to what they say but look at what they have done as you make your decision on who to vote for.

In the national elections you have a perfect opportunity to compare what former President Trump did while in office and what Vice President Harris has done while in office. Then ask yourself the great question, Am I better off and is the country better off?

Locally, look at what has happened the past 4 years and ask if Odessa is better off? I for one want a change in leadership and then maybe our city council can function properly, we will quit losing capable city staff, the water will quit running down the streets, the streets will get repaired, my trash will be picked up more quickly, and someone will finally clean up the drill site lot that is on my block and the others in the city that look terrible. If you don’t vote, then you can’t complain!
