The Ector County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took the life of a teenager early Sunday morning.
Sheriff Mike Griffis said ECSO received a shots fired call around 1:20 a.m. from the 6700 block of Kaylee and when deputies arrived they learned Edgar Rubio, 18, had been taken to Medical Center Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Rubio died of his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
Griffis said the incident is being investigated as a homicide and anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
