HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Permian survives against San Angelo Central

SAN ANGELO The Permian football team survived a close contest against San Angelo Central, winning 31-29 Friday at San Angelo Stadium.

The Panthers improved to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in District 2-6A while the Bobcats fell to 3-4, 0-2.

Central scored a late touchdown but couldn’t get the two-point conversion and Permian recovered the onside kick.

The Panthers will next face rivals Midland Legacy (2-5, 1-1) at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at Ratliff Stadium.

The Rebels lost to Wolfforth Frenship 51-48 at Astound Broadband Stadium in Midland.

Frenship now sits at 6-1, 2-0.
