Families offered two school district experiences next week

Next week, Ector County ISD is offering two important events that will allow families to experience some of what ECISD has to offer.

First, on Oct. 22, from 5:30-7 p.m. at New Tech Odessa, the Choice School Expo will give parents and students a look at all the choice campuses available to Ector County families. ECISD offers nine Choice elementary schools, two Choice middle schools, and four Choice high schools.

The New Tech Network project-based learning program at Gale Pond Alamo Elementary, and the International Baccalaureate programs at Crockett Middle School and, starting next year, Pease Elementary.

During this Choice School Expo, parents can talk with principals and staff from each of the schools and learn about the unique aspects of their programs. The Choice Schools application period opens in December.

Second, on Oct. 24, between 5-8 p.m., ECISD School Nutrition will host its third annual Food Show & Exhibition at the Marriott. The event is free and open to all ECISD parents, students, and staff.

Nearly 1,000 people attended this event last year, sampling food items from ECISD’s School Nutrition Department and some of the largest names in food service. While there, attendees are encouraged to vote on potential and current menu items. There will be raffles for several exciting prizes to show the district’s appreciation for participation.
