CANYON The UTPB women’s soccer team came up short against West Texas A&M, losing 1-0 in a Lone Star Conference game Wednesday on the road.
A second half goal by Madison Stokes was all the Lady Buffaloes needed as the team held on for the shutout victory.
West Texas A&M (6-5-0 overall, 3-3-0 in Lone Star Conference) had 11 shots total, six of which were on target.
UTPB (3-5-2, 1-4-1) had 13 shots total with five on target.
UTPB will next face Sul Ross State at 11 a.m. Saturday at home.
