China Aid Association sets banquet

MIDLAND China Aid Association has announced their annual banquet in Midland titled “Marked to Bring Freedom.”

Hosted by China Aid Association, it will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at Green Tree Country Club, 4900 Greentree Blvd., Midland.

Featured speakers include Congressman August Pfluger (R-TX 11th District) and Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX 21st District).

Alongside Dr. Bob Fu, Founder and President of ChinaAid, the representatives will share how best to counter China’s growing influence in the United States.

This will then move into a panel discussion to cover the state of religious persecution in China, transnational repression, and advancements in recent China policy.

Since Xi Jinping came into power, there has been a systematic targeting of religious minorities across China. From the ceaseless silencing of human rights lawyers through forced disappearances and false charges to the detainment of over a million Uyghur and Turkic Muslims, the Chinese Communist Party views religion as the greatest threat. However, Christianity and the underground house church continue to spread rapidly in the face of arrests, crackdowns, and violence at the hands of the CCP. ChinaAid is committed to bringing religious freedom and greater rule of law to all in China.

It will be attended by friends, supporters, and newcomers to ChinaAid’s mission.
