Odessan accused of beating, choking ex-girlfriend

An Odessa man with a protective order is accused of beating and choking the woman who took the order out against him.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers received a disturbance call around 9 p.m. Thursday from the 400 block of Elliot Avenue.

When officers arrived, a 21-year-old woman told them her former boyfriend, Eddie Dean Calicutt-Foster, 21, forced his way into her apartment, punched her several times, choked her to the point where she couldn’t breathe, chased her out of the apartment and then back in, and slammed her into the apartment door, the report stated.

Officers learned the woman had taken out a protective order against Calicutt-Foster that was due to expire on Sunday, the report stated.

Calicutt-Foster was arrested on suspicion of the first-degree felony of burglary of a habitation with intentions to commit another felony and violation of a protective order.

Calicutt-Foster, who was arrested Sept. 27 on suspicion of public intoxication, was booked into the Ector County jail on surety bonds totaling $65,000.
