The Odessa Police Department would like to extend condolences to the Department of Public Safety. DPS Trooper Kevin Ramirez Vasquez recently passed away after being struck by a vehicle two weeks ago in Notrees. The OPD Honor Guard attended his funeral Thursday in Houston.
All OPD officers have been wearing mourning bands over their badges and all flags in front of OPD have been lowered to half-staff. The Odessa Police Department would like to encourage the citizens of Odessa to replace their porch lights with blue bulbs for the rest of the week in remembrance of the fallen trooper.
