At about 10:33 p.m. Aug. 7, the Odessa Police Department responded to the area of East Loop 338 and 87th Street in reference to a major accident. Investigation revealed that a gray Dodge Ram was traveling south in the 8100 block of northeast Loop 338 and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway, a City of Odessa Facebook post said.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene and later identified as a 15-year-old female from Odessa. Next of kin have been notified and the investigation is ongoing, the post said.
