At 9:04 p.m. Wednesday, Odessa Fire Rescue went back to the Permian Basin Container fire at 81st St. and West County Road. A small fire broke out in a warehouse on the northeast corner of the property, a City of Odessa news release said.
According to the release, the crews tried to smother it with a 1,000-gallon tank of water. OFR expects to be responding to that location for flare-ups for the next month or so.
The county is the lead agency in this incident and the city is there to help in any way possible, the release said.
The city will continue to provide updates as needed.
