Career placement partnership continues to pay dividends

The continuing partnership between Ector County ISD, ACCESS, and local businesses is continuing to pay off (quite literally) for our high school graduates.

At 11 a.m. July 30, the spotlight will shine on Frank Alvarado, a Permian High School Class of 2024 grad, who is going to work for Deep Well Services. The company is hosting an Employee Signing Celebration for him to show off the joint efforts leading to the placement of many recent graduates.

This career signing event will take place in the Upstairs Training Center at Deep Well Services, 10303 W. County Road 148 Midland.

The partnership, which includes Odessa College and Workforce Solutions, has been working to eliminate barriers for high school graduates seeking their first employment opportunities. The parties have worked together to support students in the interview process by joining with employers for job fairs on the high school campus during the school day, then helping the students in their follow-up after the initial interviews. The result has been an increase in the number of recent graduates hired by local companies, many earning above-industry-average salaries.
