The park at Desert Ridge could open by mid-July, City Spokeswoman Monica McDaniel said in an email. The park originally was slated to open at the end of 2023 and then in early spring but McDaniel said Parks and Rec is in the process of ordering more sod. The park, located at Dawn Avenue and Palo Duro Drive, sits on land donated by Odessan Larry Lee and Leeco Properties. The plans for the park were provided by KDC Associates at no cost to the city.
