NUGGETS: Two forces, two fathers

By Jannie Linney

There is a mistaken idea out there that we all are children of God. We are all created by God and It is His desire that we all become His children. When Adam ate of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, he lost his place in the family of God. He also lost it for every man after him. He lost the family position for all mankind. That is why the Bible says we must be born again to be with God the creator of all things. Being “Born Again” is being born back into the family. That is why all real Christians are trying to get everyone to accept Jesus. Let us look at a scripture.

Jesus is speaking to some of the Jews, some believed Him and some were indignant at His statements. They were defending their view, of their belief. “I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.

They answered and said to Him. Abraham is our father.

Jesus said to them, if you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from My Father. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father. Then they said to Him, We were not born of fornication; we have one father God.

Jesus said to them, if God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God, nor have I come of myself, but He sent me. Why do you not understand My speech? It is because you are not able to listen to my words. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.” [John 8:37-44]

A long read, but needed in order to see there are two fathers and I think we will all agree there are two forces in this world — the force of good and the force of evil. Everyone operates in one or the other all of the time. Those who have rejected Jesus have also rejected His Father, The Creator. The force of evil is the strong force in the lives of those people. Look at V.42.

1. You would Love Me: When we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, we Love Him and we love each other. They [the world] will know us by our Love one for another. [John 13:35]

2. Proceeded from God: Jesus came and Paid a horrible price for all people so we would have a choice to receive Him or not. Those who choose Him, has the Holy Father, the only true God.

3. God sent His only Son: He didn’t come of Himself. He did come of His free will. He would have died on the cross, if you had been the only person in the world. He loves you that much.

4. Jesus said “He sent Me: He prayed for us to have eternal Life, ”And this is eternal Life, that they may know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” [John 17:3]

Salvation in Jesus Christ came that we might walk in the good force of His Father and the Father of all who chooses Him. Choosing Jesus gives us the power to live a life pleasing to Him and to spend all eternity with Him. The grace of God gives us the power to say no to the flesh, that is tempted by the god of this world, and the father of the evil force.

What force do you walk in? Who is your father? Are you happy now? Will you be happy for all eternity? Now on earth is the only opportunity you will ever have to choose where you will spend eternity. “For it is appointed for man once to die and then the Judgement.” [Heb.9:27] Where will you choose to walk out your eternity of the only “Two Forces and Two Fathers?”
