Undercover operation leads to seizure of 200 grams of Xanax

Two women were arrested on drug charges Monday during an undercover Odessa Police operation.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, undercover detectives made arrangements to buy 20 Xanax pills for $165 from Veronica Rogers and made arrangements to meet her at an apartment complex parking lot on East 50th Street.

Detectives watched Rogers arrived with another woman, later identified as Alyssa Estorga, the report stated.

When detectives approached the women, they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. According to the report, detectives seized a full bottle of Xanax from Estorga and six grams of Xanax and a small amount of marijuana from the vehicle.

During a subsequent search of Estorga’s apartment, detectives found 200 grams of Xanax, five ounces of marijuana and four grams of psilocybin or psychelic mushrooms, the report stated.

Rogers was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance. Estorga was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, two counts of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Rogers remained in the Ector County jail Tuesday on surety bonds totaling $7,000 and Estorga was being held on $75,000.
