Pfluger urges Biden official to visit Basin

WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) sent a letter to U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Director Martha Williams urging the Director to hold a public hearing in the Permian Basin to fully understand the consequences that the Biden Administration’s decision to list the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard as an endangered species will have on local communities as well as energy and national security.

“I write to urge the United States Fish and Wildlife Service to hold a public hearing in the Permian Basin regarding the proposed listing of the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. Further federal overreach in listing the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard poses an existential threat to our nation’s energy independence and national security, and it is imperative that the Service hear directly from the community it will impact most,” Pfluger’s letter in the Daily Caller said.
