Two killed in wreck outside Denver City

Two Seminole women were killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday night one mile south of Denver City.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 40-year-old man from Carlos, N.M was driving a tractor-trailer north on State Highway 214 when he failed to yield the right of way while turning left onto FM2056 and hit a Hyundai Sonata.

The driver of the Hyundai, Elisabeth Hildebrand, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Katharina Faroese, 60, was taken to Yoakum County Medical Center where she later died. Both were wearing seat belts.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
