Traffic stop leads to drug arrests

A broken tail light led to the arrest early Tuesday morning of an Odessa couple.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy pulled Bridgette Nicole Davis, 33, over around 4 a.m. Tuesday and she allowed the deputy to search her Kia van.

The deputy found a meth pipe in the glove box and Davis and her passenger, Joel Carrillo, 34, were placed under arrest on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, the report stated.

Carrillo told the detective Davis had hidden an unknown item on her person and jail personnel found a green plastic baggie containing 6.4 grams of methamphetamine in her vagina, the report stated.

In addition to the misdemeanor drug paraphernalia charge, Davis is now facing the second-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was released after posting a $25,000 surety bond.
