Run to the Wall took place at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home May 20.

It involved groups of individuals from the West Coast riding across the United States to honor fallen veterans. Their ultimate destination was Washington, D.C., where they aimed to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

During this event, Odessa was designated as an overnight stop. It was in Odessa that members of the Ambassadors, a part of the Run to the Wall, took a moment to honor the memory of two Medal of Honor recipients. Marvin Rex Young and Alfred Mac Wilson, both of whom lost their lives while bravely engaging the enemy during the Vietnam War.

To show their respect, the Ambassadors laid a wreath at the gravesites of Marvin Rex Young and Alfred Mac Wilson. This act served as a solemn tribute to their heroic actions and the sacrifice they made for their country.
