The Odessa College softball team swept its doubleheader against Clarendon College Friday in Western Junior College Athletic Conference play at the Wrangler Softball Complex.
The Lady Wranglers won the first game 11-2 and came away with an 11-3 victory in Game 2.
Both games started with the Lady Wranglers facing deficits at the end of the first inning before getting into a rhythm.
Clarendon College opened Game 1 with a 2-0 lead, holding that advantage until the bottom of the second when Odessa College’s Reagan Stange hit a solo home run to left field.
Odessa College took over the contest from there, scoring 10 unanswered runs before it ended in the fifth inning.
The Lady Bulldogs started Game 2 with more momentum, going up by three runs in the top of the first.
Brooke Nauman scored first before an RBI single from Lauren Gonzales drove in Michaella Baker to help Odessa College cut the deficit to 3-2 in the second.
A 9-run third inning broke the game open for the Lady Wranglers, securing the sweep.
Odessa College (43-3 overall, 17-1 conference) will face Clarendon College in another doubleheader starting at noon Saturday at the Wrangler Softball Complex.
