I have a couple of thoughts for today. First, in the 2/06/22 edition of the Odessa American, Sara Spector says that Brooks Landgraf put out a “dog whistle” for people to come armed to Beto O’Rourke’s speech, to try to intimidate Beto. The only picture on the news of an armed citizen was of Casey Gray, who did have an AR-15. However, this is completely legal, and, I believe, it was merely to make a point in reference to Beto’s remarks that he was coming for our AR-15s, and our AK-47s. I did not see it as any kind of threat.
Speaking of Beto, besides the fact of his actual name being Robert O’Rourke (about as Irish as you could get), he is obviously a typical, lying politician, since he so vehemently made the statement about coming for our AR-15s and AK-47s, and now has totally flip-flopped and says that he is not interested in confiscating anything, and only wants to protect the 2nd Amendment! Proves that Democrats will say anything to try to get elected! I did see a photo a while back of a Mexican couple, where the wife was holding a sign saying the Beto’s real name was Robert O’Rourke, and he only used the nickname Beto to try to appeal to Mexicans.
Second, concerning Casey Gray’s allegations about Brooks Landgraf having extramarital affairs, and trying to make a big deal out of the Winkler County sheriff renouncing his endorsement of Brooks, I tend to totally disbelieve any of it!
In the first place, the rest of the story is that, while the sheriff did withdraw his endorsement, he specifically stated that he only did it because he would not endorse anyone that has similar allegations, but he would still vote for Landgraf. And, allegations, in and of themselves, mean nothing. Anyone can make allegations.
What is important is whether or not there is proof.
In the second place, the allegations seem to have come from Casey Gray’s campaign, through a dubious “news” organization, and no substantive proof has been offered.
While there apparently are some texts, nude photos, and a video of the woman allegedly involved, she says that the texts are not to Brooks Landgraf and she has had no affair with him. She further states that she does not know how the photos were obtained, and that it was without her knowledge and consent.
It also seems that Casey Gray has a warrant on him for bail jumping from a county in Wisconsin, where he had two charges of violating a restraining order, in connection with a child custody matter. Is he trying to make a distraction?
I know Brooks casually, and have spoken to him in person a couple of times, and personally, I don’t see these allegations being true. Brooks is a staunch ally of West Texas and has done a very good job of representing us, in my opinion.
