A fire that started near the railroad tracks in south Odessa damaged a storage building Saturday afternoon, but no one was in the structure and the fire was knocked down in about an hour, according to officials.

Odessa Fire and Rescue division captain Joey White said that the fire in the 2200 block of West 2nd Street started near tracks in the area, before it damaged a wood-framed metal building used by a local business to store equipment.
